Soil, seeds, a tent and a light are not in this one. Everything here is the part you keep and reuse.
Who it is for
A 3 ft by 3 ft (90 x 90 cm) or 4 ft by 4 ft (120 x 120 cm) tent is where a flat canopy pays for itself: more plants, bigger pots, and enough clips that you are not rationing them halfway through veg. Four to six plants is the usual load, and a hundred clips covers them from the first bend to the flip with spares for the ones you move twice.
The hundred clips arrive as two 40-packs and a 20-pack. That is how we pack a hundred, and it is what the photograph shows, so nothing turns up that you were not expecting.
How you use it
Potting
5 gallon (18.9 L) is the size most growers settle on for a 3x3 or a 4x4. The steel top ring keeps the pot open while you fill it and while you train against it, and the grommets give the wire something to pull against.
Topping and bending
Top between the fifth and sixth node once the sixth has appeared, then clip each new branch out to the side as it comes. Wait until the new growth is about 2 inches (5 cm) before you bend it, usually 7 to 14 days after the cut.
Filling the space
Keep pulling the tall growth out and the low growth up until the canopy is one flat plane. That is the whole job: it decides how much of the light you already paid for lands on tissue that can use it.
Straight answers
Is a hundred clips too many? Count eight to twelve clips a plant through a full veg. Four to six plants in a 3x3 or 4x4 puts you between 32 and 72, so a hundred leaves real headroom and the spares carry into the next run. If you are training two plants, the Training Starter Pair, 3 to 4 Plants is the honest answer.
Why only one coil of wire? A 50 ft (15 m) coil is about 100 branches at a few inches each, which covers a full tent. We priced the kit with one because two would be wire you do not use, and a second coil is $9.99 if you want it.
Is it worth it over buying the three? $15.98 less than the $104.97 the same three come to at list today, which is 15% off and the biggest saving in the range. A hundred clips are priced against the 100-pack, which is what you would actually buy.

Where we use these
We wrote the guides first and built the products for them. These are the ones that use this kit:
- SCROG - One plant, a net, and a canopy that fills a 4x4.
- Canopy development - Why a flat canopy pays, and what light actually does to yield.
- Training - Topping plus continuous bending, from the first node to the flip.
Questions
How many plants fit a 4x4?
Four to six trained flat, or one large plant under a net. A 3x3 takes three or four. More plants is not more yield once they shade each other.
Can I use the wire on the pot itself?
That is what the grommets are for. Hook a cut length through a grommet and pull the branch down to it. The fabric is not the anchor and never should be.
Will I get three separate clip boxes?
Yes: two 40-packs and a 20-pack, all the same color. A hundred clips do not come in one box.
Can I train once the plant is flowering?
Structural training is finished at the flip. The one exception is a net: keep tucking each branch back under the screen as it climbs and stop when the stretch stops, around day 21. After that it is support only.
